Listening to material presented by persons with accents that differ from your own can be quite the mental workouts, fun when undertaken at our leisure and tedious otherwise.

Perhaps a registry of accents could be developed that let people establish greater empathy for speakers with significantly different accents than one's own and ability in comprehending what they mean.

Moreover, this could help those of us in the FakeAccentSociety acquire our fake accents much quicker.

This was brought up again to me while listening to "The Opening Lines of Romeo and Juliet Recited in the Original Accent of Shakespeare’s Time"
